The partnership with HSI Turbinenstahlbau Dresden-Übigau GmbH, close right from the beginning, has been crowned with successful and interesting projects for over ten years.
HSI Turbinenstahlbau in Dresden, together with HSI Hydro Engineering in Morbach, is known for its innovative developments and applications in the manufacturing of complete turbine systems for hydroelectric power plants. HSI itself is all about water, or to be more exact, all about generating power from water. HSI Hydro has been on the market since 1982 and has developed from a small engineering office to a global player in this sector. It is regarded as being a pioneer in the development of new turbine technologies with high quality standards. Its latest development is the world's first system for movable overflow and underflow hydroelectric power stations, developed together with the Hydroenergie Roth Company of Karlsruhe.
The movable underwater power station opens up the possibility of economical and regenerative production of energy even at low dam filling levels.
The first hydroelectric power plant of the Mittelbaden electricity generating station was put into operation at the Gengenbacher Kinzigwehr in mid-2010. The amount of public interest in the 3.8 million Euro project was extraordinary. After all, it is the world's first turbine that lies completely in the water flow as a movable body. With a rated power of 550 kW, this EU-subsidized plant delivers electricity for around 700 households.
What role does REMA TIP TOP play?
From the beginning, REMA TIP TOP, working together with HSI in Dresden, delivered a highly-quality corrosion protection coat for the turbines. The COROPUR coating system was selected because it gives a very good corrosion resistance combined with high mechanical load ratings and is certified for use by the Federal Waterways Engineering and Research Institute (BAW). With this product, even steel construction parts in a heavily-stressed environment have a long life expectancy.

"Because of our high quality requirements, from the beginning on we looked for a reliable long-term partner who could meet our demands" says Roland Brik, founder and CEO of HSI Turbinenstahlbau in Dresden. "With REMA TIP TOP, we have a partner at our side that is perfectly capable of meeting our global requirements for quality and competence." |
REMA TIP TOP has the goal of continuing to focus on the topical and important subject of renewable energy, and develops, through ongoing research and development work, quality products that meet global requirements and contribute to the protection of the environment and of resources.
