REMA TIP TOP acquired DUNLOP South Africa shares

Poing, January 15th, 2010: Rema Tip Top placed South Africa on the global map as a leading supplier of conveyor belting when the company acquired shares in Dunlop Industrial Products, South Africa in 2009.

“Now we can confirm that negotiations have been finalised to acquire shares in Dunlop Industrial Products South Africa, which in turn owns Dunlop Belting Products South Africa” says Thorsten Wach, MD of REMA TIP TOP South Africa. “The synergies between the two companies just kept on growing over the past 18 months as we increasingly called on the same clients with the same products, so we started to handle projects together. The more we started doing things together, the more we realised that it simply makes business sense to bring a total conveyor solution to market from under one roof.”

With belts manufactured by Dunlop South Africa, REMA TIP TOP is now able to supply conveyor belts of international standard and reputation to clients across the globe. First priority will be to service customers of the local South African market.
REMA TIP Tops’ new involvement will enable the companies’ worldwide service organisation to source conveyor belts from South Africa. REMA TIP TOP South Africa already has a number of international specialists working in the country to ensure upholding the international standards and REMA TIP TOP specifications. These specialists are already training local staff to meet future challenges.
